Erik Brotherton is a Brooklyn based architect with an eclectic portfolio incorporating residential, retail, institutional and commercial projects. Born and raised in Ohio, Erik's formative experience of architecture was a synthesis of farm structures, steel mills and a healthy dose of strip malls. Luckily, while attending The Ohio State University, he learned to filter out most of the strip mall influences and began to craft work inspired by the scale, spare geometries, and textures of his collective contexts. After graduating Cum Laude 1997, Erik passed on the visions of palm trees and sand, and made his way to New York City. He attended and received his Masters Degree from Columbia University in 2001. Erik spent the next ten years working in a handful of forward thinking firms, learning the business of architecture and acquiring diverse experiences that allowed him to start his own practice in 2010. Erik is licensed to practice architecture in the state of New York.
